Creating blocks to make your forum or website more attractive to your visitors is fun! Creating blocks for specific pages, creating content with text, images, forms or animations tailored to the location it is displayed can help improve the experience for your visitors.
With the many options available to you when creating blocks you may every now and then run into an unwanted situation that you need to resolve. In this article a few common issues and their solution.

I Created a Block, but it is not showing!
If you have created your block, but it not showing, then you probably need to activate it. All blocks have a on/off switch for activating and deactivating.

The on/off switch looks like this: Status: On/Off



To activate/deactivate a block, go to "TinyPortal > Panels and Blocks > Blocks". Search for your block under the panel listing and change the status from Red to Green under 'Activate'.

And then is the Panel that you wish to use turned on?
Go to TinyPortal > Panels and Blocks > Panels >  pick the panel you wish to use >... check to see that the panel, "Use (your choice) panel?", is set to 'On'.

I Added a block to an Article, But It's Not Showing!
Make sure of, check all of the settings for your block:

First, did you select 'Status On' and then save your block?



Next: in the lower part of your block options page you will see a section for, "Choose where the block should appear."
Did you check the Article where you wish to have the block display?

Also: check to see that the Panel that contains your block is turned on.

I created a block, but it's not showing for all users!
If a block is not showing for certain users but is it for others, check the membergroup settings in the block settings.
By default NO membergroup is checked when creating a new block. Make sure the correct groups are selected to see the block.
