Just woke up. Just checking though, the 0 byte file size was ringing a familiar bell.. been there, done that ;)

rofl... without looking thought you were Skhilled coming back! :)

I have this feeling the site is buggered. The database is still there of course but without some way of linking software to data it's all a bit desperate... especially if repair_settings.php produces a blank page as well.

I don't suppose you have a nice simple solution by any chance??

Zetan

I think Skhilled gave you the best solution, backup.. Blitz... Reinstalled, Import.

I was afraid of that. :)

With blank pages popping up I have the feeling it's back to 'Plan A'... i.e. stuff the lot into the bin and start over with a new site. :)

The worst that can happen is the members lynch me... of course they have to *find* me first and I have a head start!! Haha!! :D

Zetan

At least you have active members ;)

Oh yes... and if they weren't 'active' before they will be when they discover I wrecked the forum (again).

Heh... bye for now... I'd better get rebuilding!

Just as a point of interest... I can't seem to write to the .htaccess file to create a 'redirect' - permissions are set to 777... yet it isn't writing (or working).

Afaik the format between domain should be "Redirect /index.html http://australianopinion.com.au/forum/index.php" - any suggestions??

Zetan

try 755. Some hosts wont allow 777

I'd also check with your host, make sure you have complete ownership of all the files, if you don't, you should have.

That's what I'm thinking. Tell them to chown and chmod your files for you.

Why would it be html and not php?

You can set a redirect using cPanel or by creating a php file with code that will do it.

Did you ever look at your database to see if any queries were hanging while during the page load? In phpMyAdmin you can click the processes tab to see what queries are running at that time. Its shows you how long the query is running.
