Sorry about your daughter's pics. I have kids too so I'm feeling you. I always back up images to dvd and even then copy those to new ones every year cause even those can go bad or get scratches or broken. Then backup software changes so having them on different formats is also good.

I have family images on dvd from photos I've retouched from the late 1800's. So, I always keep backup in case of a fire or something and keep backups at a relatives home just in case. Too much work involved in repairing torn, damaged and old photos to lose them. ;)

This is why I liked the idea of the Mozy online backup. With me in Australia and the backup in the USA it'd take a nuclear war to lose them entirely... and if there was one I probably wouldn't be that worried anyway. :)

(files still uploading... will panic *after* I run the upgrade/install script) :)

I don't like online services cause after over 20 years on the net I've seen too many sites disappear over night.

Don't worry. Everything will be ok.

EDIT: I'm off to bed. Been up for a long time and need a few hours rest.

Damn... I got a blank page and was going to ask for more advice.

No worries.... have a good sleep. I'll go bang my head on the wall :D

A blank page for your site? Make sure all smf files are uploaded as well as the settings.php files. Then run repair_settings.php. you might also have to reset your directory/file permissions, depending on how your server is configured. If you are not sure what they should be set to then ask your hosting.

I'll be back in a few hours. I just need a nap. You can also check at smf arcade or click my sig.

As it happens both files are 0 byte

What's the status of your Disk Quota? The quota that is allocated with your subscription with your webhost? MB / GB ?

Np problems with the host... it's on my own reseller package and I made sure the site has far more than enough space and bandwidth! :)

Oddly, when I run repair_settings.php I *still* get a blank page... !! Now *that* was unexpected!

Thought you'd gone to bed?? :D

Just woke up. Just checking though, the 0 byte file size was ringing a familiar bell.. been there, done that ;)
