That error is nothing we can help you sort out as it's a server setting, you need to contact your host and ask them to set a higher memory value.
16mb is common.

Ok any know what I should be putting in the .htaccess file? I spoke with my host, they wont up the limit but htaccess files are aloud which i can set it myself in there. Only problem is they dont support them and i have no clue what i need in it. And cant find much online regarding memory size settings... Help!

siath

I would suggest doing a search on Yahoo or Google, use this as the search params:

htaccess memory limit

I just searched and came up with a ton of information about setting memory in the htaccess file and even work arounds when that doesn't work.

I won't tell you how or what to do as I don't want to be responsible if your computer melts down or your provider growls and attacks. But, this information should get you looking in the right direction.

Yea problem is I did that :P and I added some code:

php_value memory_limit 32M
php_value post_max_size 32M
php_value upload_max_filesize 32M

did nothing. Same error

siath

No idea, I have never had to do that. I would say trying to set it to 16M instead of 32 as I think someone said 16 was default for most providers. Other than that I would say keep searching or call your provider back.

Sorry, I can't help

Well my code is working, I know this as it is changing: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 68157440 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 77824 bytes) in /home/orderoft/domains/orderoftheevenstar.net/public_html/Forum/Sources/Load.php(1733) : eval()'d code on line 136

What I have bolded and enlarged is changing, change the parameter to 32M then it goes to around 33000000 bytes. but still always regardless of that it says:exhausted (tried to allocate 77824 bytes) in /home/orderoft/domains/orderoftheevenstar.net/public_html/Forum/Sources/Load.php(1733) : eval()'d code on line 136

Always the same error

It wont matter how you set thee htaccess file, if the server only allowe you to use 8mb of memory you will never get it to work.
I suggest you change host  :P

dunargo

Well what is going on then... Hehe.. I used the same host no more than 6 months ago for the exact same things I am trying to run now. And had no problems at all, even was able to install the TP automatically hehe. hmmmm might see if i can get them to put me on that server cluster i was on b4

dunargo

Yea ok... That brings me to this, is it possible to get ahold of whatever version of SMF and TP were being used in Dec of 07, so I can see if they work?

G6Cad

The same versions as now, SMF 1.1.4 and TP V098  nothing have changed since then.
