I am attempting to install TP (0.983)on my smf forum( SMF 1.1.4) When attempting to install via the package manager i am getting 550 /Forum: No such file or directory. I have ran a smf/TP forum a while back and I cant for the life of me think what the heck the proper path should be.

G6Cad

It's nothing wrong ti the paths, rather permission error to the files and folders on the server.
You have to install tp manually with the help of our doc section and the modinstructions there.

dunargo

Any clues or whatnot to what files/folders need the permissions changed? I am not having much luck with the manual install.

G6Cad

What are not working with the manuall install ?

The files that must have the correct permissions set is pakages folder, and create a folder inside that and name it to temp and set it to 755 or 777 depending on your servers settings.
But i dont think that will work for you, there are several files that needs to be edited by the installer so  eather way you will have to go with a manuall install.

I am not getting it basically. I have unpacked everything to the /Forum folder, ran the manual install, got the page saying TinyPortal´s table structure is now installed/updated.. Now I do not know which index.php I should be opening. The one in the default folder? Tried that and cannot find any of the code it is asking to change. Is there a link of the .php somewhere to download for stupid idiots like myself

Guess I am confused why it is not working as it did the first time i used it It worked just fine, using all the same things I am now.

Look for the directory where you installed SMF. It should be something like

http://www.domain.com/Forum/

Actually, you should just be able to enter that into your browser. Or you can use

http://www.domain.com/Forum/index.php

G6Cad

It seems like you have done 2 out of 3 steps , you have missed the copy and paste part.
You have to add in the tp code manually into the SMF files according to the modinstruction in out docsection.

dunargo

Ok so to make sure I have this correct.

my smf is installed at domain.com/Forum
So i will extract and put everything from the manual install .rar in that same area correct?

from there browse to domain.com/Forum/manual_tp_install.php, get the table structure is now installed/updated page. from there do everything posted here?: http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=14195

and that is that?
