Did you replace the template.php files only?  They should not make the DB errors

you mean by template.phph files files like index.template.php and like that?

if that wht you mean I have replaced the whole default theme file

I meant for you to only replace the template.php files for the default theme, not the complete theme folder.

This is some what getting nowhere, I think you will be better off to simply delete all forum files all to gether just keeping settings.php and settings.bak.php, then upload a hole new fresh set of files from the upgrade package (the same SMF version you have been using) then run the upgrade.php from your browser.
That will give you all fresh files. You will still have the same DB so you will not loose anything from the content you have.
