I see I found the permissions in my ftp.. and they're all set to 755.. let me try manual..

Okay.. too many syntax errors.. let me search in google for an uncorrupt 1.1RC update.. the one in simplemachines.org says it's corrupt.

Are you using the package manager to upload this file laetababy? if so, i had the same error (it's not corrupt). You need to unzip the file and edit the Package info file as beemer did here http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?topic=3860.0 then re-zip and try and upload through the package manager.

IchBin

You don't install the RC2 update via the package manager. You upload all the files and run the update installer file.

Okay muttly I did that already with the tp one but I'm trying to upgrade to 1.1RC2 so I can get tp error code not showing up. I'll try IchBin's suggestion.

Sorry, i was thinking of the TP file not the update!  ::)

Hehe mate I appreciate the help though! Still waiting for my slow ftp to replace files..

laetababy

Sorry, the copyright must be in the template.
Please notify this forum's administrator that this site is using an ILLEGAL copy of SMF! When I tried to replace files in ftp..

This is what I did for the manual install: (IÃ,’m a complete noob, so this will help others I hope!)

I uploaded the manual install Ã,‘files onlyÃ,’ file http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item100 and added all the files from each directory into the relevant directory for SM i.e. all the themes were copied and pasted into the SM themes dir.

I uploaded the file http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=get101 and run it Ã,‘php 1139149106manual_tp_install.phpÃ,’ in the main SM directory.

Note: If your having permission problems then chmod 777 all your SM (chmod 755 did not work for me).

Download the instructions for modifying your php files in SM from here http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=2481.0;attach=1830

Follow the instructions in the file for editing each php file as required Ã,â€" just copy and past each section into the php file.

The third php for editing was a problem because I could not find the entries from the install instructions for that file (index.php) so I downloaded a working copy here and replaced my index template in my SM root dir; http://www.webmasterz.eclipse.co.uk/images/index.template.zip

Restart SM in your default theme.

I followed these instructions to this bit:

I uploaded the file http://www.tinyportal.net/smf/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=get101 and run it Ã,‘php 1139149106manual_tp_install.phpÃ,’ in the main SM directory.

How do you do this? Where is this main SM directory? Is it ftp or in admin section? I'd appreciate any help.
