TP and Adk Blog

I would like to install Adk Blog MOD, but SMF 2.0.2 report an error in ./index.php

Analyzing the problem I see is not found:

if (empty($board) && empty($topic))

because the TinyPortal MOD modify it like this:

elseif (empty($board) && empty($topic) && $settings['TPortal_front_type']=='boardindex')

Any suggestions for have both MOD working together ?

At first glance I see when installing this mod the screen below, that tells me the trouble may start with a conflict with one of my other mods or a conflict with the index it's self. Please Note eveyrone, if you get errors installing a mod, then chances are you have trouble with that mod.

Now Not saying this is your case, but it could be!
If this happens , I would think twice before installing it and if you chose to please back sure you do a complete back up first!

But I would try to figure out what is conflicting with the Mod first, is it another mod or SMF it's self?

I'll be looking in to this a little more, with that mod....

OK, After Un installing all mod including TP, I'm still getting the error with the core theme on my test site. But the index error above had gone away when TP was removed!

I may need to check out my Core theme, but never the less looks like this mod needs consideration, before installation, But I may be wrong!

Now ... I uninstalled all mods, then installed ADK blog, on the Argintum theme alone and got the Blog working...it seems fine... then I re-install TP with the following indication below ( screen ) and the Blog still seems fine, did not install on the core them though!

Ok ;lets keep in mind all other mods were un installed first!

No errors in the log yet!

OK re installed TP and My Media, and Spam Mods and all seems Good att!

If I find, something wrong I will report it here!

This means that your ./index.php does not have this piece of code:

and TP still works ?

Maybe just replace the original SMF line first (without uninstalling TP), so Adk Blog MOD has no installing problems.

Because my front page is not the board index, is TP.

Backup the index.php before you try this, i havent any board to try this on so i dont know it it will work.

Replace this line

It does not work. When I clic on "My Blog" TP appears.

After reading up on this some, I suspect that there are a lot more problems with this latest version of ADK Blog then just the installation file.  Many users, even users of other portals, are having problems with it.  Nearly 3 months ago, the Mod author acknowledged various issues and said that they were being added to their bugtracker.  Read this --> http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=398380.msg3286126#msg3286126

TinyPortal works fine without this Mod so, despite what anyone else says, the problems are with ADK Blog, not with TinyPortal.  These issues need to be addressed with the author of the Mod.  We do support for TinyPortal here and we do quite well with that.  We can't be expected to make other Mods work if they have problems.

Well, I went out of my way to check and find a work around, so that mod can work with TP and not the other way around, But if they do not want it, that's all I can do.

I always say you have to find a way to fit in, and not expect everything to fit you!

Just imagine if we could create a script that would work in any situation, that would be something...What say you/

it still working on my test site, I could test the Mod and see if it works with all the Portals, but that's not my job bro! but I did the foot work on how it will work with TP, and not TP to suite it and risk messing up an already great Portal system.

And remember it was not just the TP, it has issue with as I mention above it the core theme also! So I must ask myself who needs to change what??
