But it's always thst last 10% that takes 90% of the time!

I've recently checking a bugtracker and since 1-2months not much has been changed :/ So this 10% can take much longer than you expected o.O

Besides even if TP could be relased with with this 90% progress and 2 or 3 bugs, the community will find another +100 more ;) as it's beta. So this 10% (for me) dont looks so terrible and scary for release.

IchBin

Well, I will say that the latest beta that Bloc released is much better. I think it's looking pretty dang good so far.

Sure, for 1.1.x I dont know any better portal modification. You know that most of the SMF users are quite sure to switch to SMF 2 (new options, better performance fresh look etc.) even if its RC2 stage of release. Most of TP lovers (including me) didnt swiched because... Don't lie ourselfs its more than half year since last version.

Sorry for complainings xD I just dont see any progress with this amazing software  :-\

Nolt,

Believe me, there's been a lot of progress.  You're probably right that most users will switch to SMF 2 once the TP version that will work with it is released but there will be some that won't, at least not immediately.  This is why Bloc has written TinyPortal 1.0 beta 5 to work with both SMF 1.1.x and SMF 2.0 RC2.  As Ichbin wrote, "it's looking pretty dang good so far."  I would estimate that we are closer to 95% at this point than 90%, from the looks of it.

You should also remember that Bloc also helps with the development of SMF. He has more on his plate that other portal creators do not have.

Well, not anymore lol, as of January 2010 I am no longer on the SMF team, nor as SMF Friend. This is due to how they have handled things in recent weeks..but I am not giving up SMF as such. The new software that maybe come out of smf-friends.org is something I look forward too, but I won't be playing a major part there either.

Lesson learned: too many things in the air, and one or several of them drops eventually. I am focusing on own projects and themes now.

Well, that will be good news for our users. ;D

That's my problem...too many things trying to get done at once.  ::)
