Hello,

I am trying to set permissions for some users group that will post articles.

I tried to follow the instructions from here: http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,25167.0.html .

I have created a group "Authors". In the permissions I checked:

Manage articles - YES
Submissions are always approved - NO
Can submit HTML articles - YES
Can submit BBC articles - YES
Can edit own articles - YES

Then I gave this group access to one of the categories. The problem is that the group members cannot do anything in the articles section. There is always the same error message: "Sorry, you aren't allowed to fetch news."

What am I doing wrong? There is no news related permission that I can change...

Can you please help?

Thanks

Did you use the search?

Yes, I used the search. I think that my case is different. I cannot set permission tp_news through GUI. I was forced to do it through the database. Now it works, although not as expected...

Renegd98

If you had to set the permission thru the database then most likely your TP install did not complete.

You should check out How do I manually install TinyPortal and verify all the changes were made.

WorpeX,

If you have the same problem, then you need to do as Renegd98 suggests and go through the manual install to make sure that everything was installed correctly ---> How do I manually install TinyPortal

We are glad to help you but please, in the future, start your own support topic when you have a problem instead of hijacking somebody else's topic.

Thank You,
ZarPrime

Fuck that, everything else works fine. What file did you edit?

Renegd98

Well I can tell you now that you can forget getting any help with that attitude. We try and help and you want to go into that mode.  So forget it...
