Actually, a video tutorial isn't a bad idea for basic setup. maybe I should look into making one.

HEY HEY..... i think i figured it our folks...... :laugh:.....another question now.......id like to add a shoutbox.....now i see there is an option to select  a shoutbox in the block section.....do i have to download something to get that

You can click on the admin link > then click on the registration link down on the left side. On this screen you can enter a user name and password for this account. You can also enter a fake email if you need to because you don't have check these two options before you hit save.

Email new password to user: unchecked   
Require user to activate the account: unchecked

Then send me in a PM here the username and password that you choose. After I'm done you can delete the account if you don't want anyone else having an admin account on your site.

i fixed it.............sorry mate..however,now i would like to know..........id like to add certain things to the forum.such as a shoutbox.....now i see there is a shoutbox you can select ,however is there a code or something i am suppose to put in also?

i am getting the hang of things now...but a problem i am running into isi would like to add somethings in my blocks,such as a calender, top poster..things like that......are there codes.or mods i am suppose to upload?

i dont know where to go to find these things...thank you

When you go to your admin blocks section, you create the block. You've said you see that part. Ok, after you create any blocks, you need to "activate" it. This is done in the the admin section where you see all the blocks listed.

Something like the calendar, is not included but can be easily created. Simply create a php block within the panel you would like. Then in the textarea, add a calendar script and save. Don't forget to activate it so that it can be seen/used(greendot, not red).

Scripts like the calendar can be found in the "block code snippets" section of this site.

99% of the block code snippets we have here need to be used in a phpbox block. Here's a link to that board. Search through that board and you will find a calendar topic or two. Take the code from the first post and copy and paste it into your block. Need any further help let us know.

Can you post us a link to what snippet you are looking for ?
We have a few hundred to look at so if you can point us to the one you are reading in, it would be great  :up:
