yes i am... using the option : show features and frontblock only. I wanted to display only articles.. but i can not manage to get more then one article on the frontpage... even if set to show on frontpage...

IchBin

So you were using frontpage blocks lol.

So you want more articles showing on the frontpage? Do you have them both options checked for activation and display on frontpage?

QuoteWould help if you told me what you were using for your frontpage settings then.

OK, here they are :):

The Hide Frontpanel I've set to ON here, but before it was Frontpanel before content... With the same result.

IchBin

Perhaps it would be better if you just told me what you are trying to achieve. What do you want to display on your front page?

yes... i want more aricles on the frontblock.. i had checked display on frontpage for both  articles and has set the frontpage to show only articles.. but did not work properly (shown only the article with not title, or showing the whole article even with use intro enabled.. and later when i tryd to fix that.. it didn't worked at all anymore.. only showing one article.

So i had to change the frontpage setting to show frontpage block and featured article, because that was the only option to display it properly as it should.. even thought i can not use the intro function on a featured article...

Anyway... it seems like i have more troubles then usual, so G6 thinks that there went something wrong with the update, since i have issues that should have been resolved in the new release. I am trying to check want went wrong with the articles that she gave me.

IchBin

I have split some posts of here to separate the issues.

IchBin, for me i was trying to do it like you could do it in tp0.98. The below works with no issue in 0.98 (so perhaps its my fault and im posting on wrong thread). But i can concur the scenario of just displaying on front page results in same thing. Article Returns to Front Screen of Website.

Where you were able to display the articles in left or right block. Would list all the titles of the articles and who wrote them. They would list in order as they were submitted.

I can get them to show if i use the article block in the block snippets here on this site; however when you click the article it just takes you back to the front page of the website.

This is the block snippet http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,3320.0.html

Actual Code being used from this snippet  (Still only returns user to front screen if clicked)

$articles=db_query("SELECT id,subject,intro,author FROM smf_tp_articles WHERE approved=1 AND off=0 ORDER BY date DESC", __FILE__,__LINE__);
$cnt=0;
While ($row=mysql_fetch_row($articles))

{
   // The number of articles you want displayed
   if ($cnt < 5) {
    echo '<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="100%" style="margin-top: 4px;
             margin-bottom: 4px;" border="0" class="tborder"><tr>';
    echo '
    <a href="http://www.othersi.com/index.php?page=' . $row[0] . '"><b>' . $row[1] . '</b></a>
     <div style="padding: 8px; padding-top: 0px;">
By : <b>' . $row[3] . '</b></div>

</td>';
     echo '</tr></table>';
    }
   $cnt++;
}
If  ($cnt=0) {
    echo '<td>No Reviews Available';
    }

If I recall in TP 0.98 there was a built in block that actually allowed the admin to select recent article, certain amount of articles that they could display and they could put that in any block that TP does... left, right, front page and so on. Maybe we have to go back to that and see whats the difference? Just throwing that out there as an idea.

Ok a little info for some of you. I'd like to unlock this topic so we can discuss further since I had a little break through on the cause after looking at Rus's site. I noticed that on every article or category view the frontpage blocks were showing. So I changed what was displayed on the frontpage temporarily to test. It seemed that the articles and cats were working after changing the frontpage setting to display articles only. Are any of you using frontpage blocks?

Yes, I had a front page block active on my site.  I've since gone back to 1.0.5 b1, however, until this issue was resolved with 1.0.6 b2.

Nice to see a fix on the horizon ... until 1.0.7 though, rolling back or 'downgrading' may be something I need to do ... @ Wildcard, did you just uninstall 1.0.6 and then reinstall 1.0.5? simple as that? (All your data and block config was retained?)

Yup...just uninstalled 1.0.6 and reapplied 1.0.5 in the package manager.  Is that bad?  :)
