Me again...  :uglystupid2:

I searched through the threads - I may have missed it - but could not find anything about this.

A couple questions regarding RSS feeds:

1) Is there some way to get the feed to open inside my site? - right now, my feeds take you to another website. It seems to work ok with some embedded videos - I have these set up as articles in left block. The user clicks on the title, and the article (video) opens nicely in the frontblock.  ???

2) Regarding the videos mentioned above - is there some way to manage the order of the articles? It looks like TP just slaps them in any order it feels (i.e. not alphabetical, and not in the order added).

I'm running SMF 1.1.4, with TP 0.9.83
The only mod I have is admod 2.3 (which works fine).
Theme is "mystic jade" from http://www.dzinerstudio.com/

Cheers

Not possible to set it that way in TP, you will need to use some sort of conversion scripts that will change the rss feed code.
All rss feeds are made by the sites they come from, and there is not much you can do to change the code they use for it.

Hi G6,

Thanks for the reply. I kinda figgered that was the case  :( - just had to ask.

Any idea on the second question? About the order of "articles" listed? (In my case, the articles are vids).

Cheers  :)

All articles are orderd by the date and time, you should see that when you create a new article :)

Umm.... no? :-\

When I look at them in the articles list in admin, they're sorted by date. When I look at them in the block, they're sorted by.... what? I've checked the dates - and they are not in any sort of chronological order - nor are they alphabetical (at least not by title).  ???

very confused....

Right now, the only way to arrange the order of articles displayed on your frontpage is to change the date of the articles. All articles are arranged in order by the date.

To change the date of an article, just go to: "Admin > TinyPortal > Articles > Articles > SELECT YOUR ARTICLE". Then change the date as needed.

G6Cad

Wait a minute, are you talking about the articles or the blocks ?  The block order are sorted by numers in the blocks list.
0
10
20
30

and so on, just set the number in the order you want them to show..
If it's the articles, you change the order of the date just like Lesmond describe to you.

I'm dealing with the order of articles within a block. In this case the articles are videos (copy and past code). I have no trouble positioning the order of blocks (in this case the left, and the block in question is at the top).

I changed all the dates.

The articles and dates as they now appear in the article list are as follows:

Article 1: Jan 6 /08
Article 2: Jan 5 /08
Article 3: Jan 4 /08
Article 4: Jan 3 /08
Article 5: Jan 2 /08
Article 6: Jan 1 /08
Article 7: Dec 15/07

Now, here's the order they appear within the block:

Article 6
Article 7
Article 3 (yay - in the right spot!)
Article 2
Article 4
Article 1
Article 5

So, there must be some other "sort" that TP is doing - and not in the order in which I've added them either. (Also not alphabetical - at least the english alphabet).
:o

Could it have something to do with the block being an "article category" block - but I only have 1 category showing?

Zetan

blocks and articles are two different things.

Blocks are the panels: left, right, center, front.
Articles are pages.

Hi ZTN - I'm aware of that. I was just wondering if it had something to do with the ordering of my articles.

I've done some more tinkering, and it looks like I can control the order by placing the articles in separate blocks. I was hoping I could control the order of articles within a block. No luck so far.

Cheers :)
