Excuse me for spamming

figured i'd put out a post today on what's going on with me.. about 2 weeks ago, maybe less or more lol, lebisol and i were talking on bugs and viruses, i had caught a trojan, and thought i got rid of it.. I got it thru the yahoo spam box, by opening up what i thought wasnt spam. go figure. i remember when i did it, because my whole screen blinked when i did that.. and did when the trojan vundo poped up after me thinking i got it again..

anyway, i have tried every thing that I know of, and all the links that I have put out, thank goodness, most arent mine, or if they are, it's by sticking other links from rs into my rs without dling them on my laptop.. just to let everyone know..

i use symantec corporate for firewall and anitvirus..(that thing lol has been going off till i think im used to seeing it more than web pages!) and i use spybot, and my host recommended avg and online trend scanner.. i couldnt get to the online scanner at all.. so i got  a brillent idea and found the trend antivirus.. (think that is what got the marjority?? not too sure) but the keygen isnt working right or i would release that out to you guys..

the bad thing is, I decided a month ago, I would participate in the Christmas theme from SMF/TP, and tried to make a theme lol.. i did it tho, however with the virus poping up like popcorn.. one minuet its gone the next it's back, and locking up everything i had, well, things got screwy..  i normally do not ever worry about viruses or trojans, nothing.. but now lol.. it's making me want to close out my acct with yahoo, even tho im bug free now.. trend online says so, avg, symantec (thought I locked that up last night lol it is working!!), spybot, all says i am clean..

and now my burner is gone, it died last night, will i tried to redo my os and i need a new one, or a dvd burner (it was just a cd burner) to get all my stuff back again, i just cant afford to get one till the 1st.. and all the programs and stuff on my laptop, lol well lets just say i have 81% free space on here.. so the only thing I can do right now is spam the forums i frequent, and believe that i am going to post this everywhere i am at, zo that everyone will understand how very important it is to leave spam mail alone!!!!

Always have the computer in safe mode when you run the spybot softwares and when it rem,oves it nothing will disturbe other softwares installed.
When you have normal windows loaded and run the spam removal softwares they will never be removed even if the spam removal tool tell they are fixed.
So safemode and then run the tools, and you will probably be clean after that.
And dont use just one removal software, run several times with diffrent ones as they are updated and built diffrently.
I use spy bot search and destroy and mebroot spysweeper and they always clean everything if i have spam or trojans.
Spybot search and destroy is free, webroot is paied, but these two remove everything that can damage the windows installed.

Removing spyware...agh the fun times. Got to love the users.
First, Sym. Corp is crap and it has been for years...including the apps they buy out. Tred micro is much better choice.
Safe mode -per G6 - is a must but it will NOT remove ALL of your spyware. Removing spyware is a waste of time & your machine will never be clean regardless of what cleanup utlitites report. Screen flashing is sometime "normal" for laptops beacuse of the heat factor and knowing what apps you run that would not worry me too much.
You drive may* not be fried but simply your drivers may be infected etc. not sure.
Best is to:
- backup your drive
- reformat your machine and put aside a partition for your backup (10 GB to be safe)
- install clean OS and patch it up (on main parition)
- install ALL of your applications
- get drive imaging software such as Acronis
- make an image/backup on that 10 GB partition you put aside
- enable winXP system restore

now you are set...if anything happens to your machine your backup software (Acronis) will allow you to interroupt the boot sequence and compleatly restore your main C parition.
you are looking into 3-4 hrs worth of work.
If clean install is not an option then PM me....

thanks guys.. and no lebisol, the burner is actually beeping when there is a cd in it and it sounds like it is scratching something.. or grinding and cant move, does it that makes any sense?? and i had a hard time removing my pix, notes and stuff.. i must have gone thru 30 cds, thinking maybe i got a bad batch of discs, but it is the drive.. i couldnt even re install my os.. i do have acronis, and when i can get a new drive installed, will be much better..

the thing i was really trying to point out, is if you have spam mail, be very careful on opening it.. make sure that you have it scanned before hand.. and lol i miss my burner!!! (not to mention, everything i have for my themes are on one of my cd's and i cant get to it)

also get the usb external harddrive..forget backups on cds...well anyhow, not really a tp subject.

lol lebisol yeps.. cant get ahold of the guy that sold this laptop to me yet.. but i left a message.. i just wanted to let everyone know what is going on with me.. im not very active here, lol and lately i have been talking a mile a minuet!! i cant even play with my themes cuz i have nothing in this thing  but anyways, will be back up and running soon.. i miss playing with my tp im learning soo much, but im stuck like chuck for now.. and wanted to let everyone know..

It's like I'm reading my own words   

The "It will never happen to me" attitude didn't help me much few weeks ago. I got the msn virus backdoor.
Someone I was talking with on messenger sent me a zip file saying "I think I never sent you my pic. Here I am". I usually chat with English speakers on msn so I had no doubt that it was my Irish friend sending that message. I downloaded the file and in the next moment I was logged out of msn. I logged in back and all my friends that were online at that moment asked me why I was acting so silly. They all got a message from the cloned evil me with that zip file attached and something like "I saw your pics last night. Hope your dad won't see them", "look.. I have new pics. Don't I look dumb ?"    Someone even said to me :"What's going on... you're not like that. Plus ... I saw your pics remember ?" 
I removed the downloaded file and AVG didn't find anything wrong. I logged in back on msn and everything seemed to be fine.
Next day everything went crazy again. With the antivirus claiming to scan a "clean system" and all my friends claiming to get silly messages from me again I took a look in my Message History and I found out where exactly the "packed" virus was. I removed it but few moments later the virus was back (2 infected zip files this time). MSN virus removal tool didn't work out for me.

What I did was to uninstall my antivirus, install another antivirus, run Win in safe mode, manually remove the infected files (the ones that my new antivirus could only block in quarantine but couldn't remove).

After that episode I tested several antivirus softwares. In a few weeks I ended up buying the full security package from the original "savior"  (license to use up to 3 PCs - my sister's PC is now safe too, even though her PC still "owns" 2 trojan viruses and 1 trojan spyware in quarantine - all found soon after I removed the antivirus she was initially using).

I learnt my lesson .. I hope.
