I'm recreating a html website in SMF/TP  and am using forum posts on the front page to simulate the News/Updates from the old site.  The problem I am running into is I want to keep the time stamps as they were so this is going to require modifying the post dates of topics.

I think I figured out that this information is stored in the "posterTime" field, but I can't figure out the formatting.  For example a post that is dated "03:01:27 PM  June 21, 2007"  has an entry in the field that looks like this  "1182456087".

So can anyone tell me how to figure out the formatting of that field?  Or if I'm even on the right track here.

Thanks in advance!

Yes that is correct. That number is the amount of seconds since December 30, 1969 I think. So good luck figuring out how to change it. :)

Hi IchBin I figured it out half a second ago.. whats going on with that.. It's the UTC (epoch/unix) data from 1970-01-01.  And I found a number of online calculators to help figure out proper dates.. BUT I ran into another problem.

I added a topic to a board and modified the MySQL entry with the "correct" date and although the date is reflected when refreshing the page. It appears still on top in the board listing and thus on top on the Front Page.

Any idea what I should be looking at next?

Well, I'm sure there are multiple places that the time is saved. Members, messages, topics etc are the places I'd look.
