cant do home page

i cant create a front page(home)
i have been trying for ages all i can seem to find in the help is read more but that wont work until theres something there to start with
i have typed them in but cant get them to display on the home page

What have you typed in where? What do you want for the home page.
You should have something in mind. You have a home page, you just need to fill it up with some content, Articles, Blocks.. etc.

There are no hard and fast rules.

Try going to: Admin > TP/Settings. There you can set out the home page, create articles that will layout like the settings. Create some blocks.

Have a look through the docs section, check out some of the other sites in the Showcase board for some ideas.

i clicked on front page and selected the tab articles

but i still dont see a front page except the selected left colum and shout box ??

well i got some normal posts up on it now but really wanted to do a test page like above
so i could at least know hot to do it before going to town on a facy page

so if anybody can tell me how to get the welcome a up as home page i would appreciate it

also were do i post in here a big weldone for this cool addmod i think its geat so far

You can put your welcome in a article and select the option for the article to be shown on the front page.

i tried that sure i have must be doing some thing wrong as it's all there typed out in welcome a and i created a new one and called it mk home
its figuring it out how to get it on the page
and i cant find a how to on it

You need to switch the articles on. You'll see red(off) green(on) lights, or icons.

both a and be are on green full balls and set to Set as featured

settings for front page are

Allow guests to see news from the news board - even if guest are not allowed to see the board?  Yes 
What to show on front page:  Only forum-posts
Forum-posts and articles - sorted on date
Only articles
Featured article and front page blocks    ((((((this one)))))
Front page blocks
Go directly to forum index

How frontblocks will be shown:  Normal, frontblocks are shown alone
Frontblocks are added first
Frontblocks are added last

Visual options for frontpage
( disabled in Single Page option )  Left side blocks
Right side blocks
Center-Blocks
Show userinfo/news at the top 
Articles layout for the front page:  A 

were am i going wrong please
