Do you unzip theme files before running package manager?

I've been reading the docs and faq.

In the areas where installing themes.

The files to download are described. The installation process is described.

It does not say whether to Unzip the downloaded file before using package manager.

Just upload the zip file.. it will unzip itself.

I guess you know that already.. and if you are suggesting that this information should be added to FAQ, then I agree. it should be. It seems you are asking the question though.

I was trying to find out whether to unzip or not.  Searching the FAQ and DOCS it didn't say.  I just tried it both ways and got the TP file to upload in the theme management tool. 

This probably should be in the FAQ or DOCs you'd think.

Im not sure installing themes actually should be a part of TinyPortals FAQ section, as the theme installer and the administration of it are builded in SMF and not TP itself.

Also i think Simplemachines have the documents on How to install a theme on their site

They certainly do have the docs, people just don't read them. And yes, I agree this is an SMF question really and not a TinyPortal question.

I have to disagree with you both.
This site deals with themes. Tiny Portal themes and there is a section for SMF themes. I never read the documentation, I just uploaded a theme zip and if it had returned an error then I would have searched.

Well as much as you may disagree, I'm still going to send questions about SMF to simplemachines.org.

Thats your choice.. but you do have a large theme support section here.
And I'm not trying to get into an argument. Just an observation
