I keep a hot backup sub dir on the server so if the site gets hosed I can just do a rename and get everything back up as the site is live. The site is back up running again without TP. I just don't understand it.

I have http://www.actioncamnetwork.com and a test site at http://www.voiceofthevillages.com/smf all SMF 1.1.1 and TP 0.9.7

Not troubles at all with the installs or anything else. The live site that I'm trying to get TP into is at http://www.talkofthevillages.com/smf

I've made no less than five attempts at the install both through the package manager and the manual install and it just won't go.

That's the way I just did it, right off that thread. No workie for me.

I followed http://www.talkofthevillages.com/smf twice

The first time I saw a functiong TP site. The second time I saw a SMF site without TP.

It's up now. I had to literally take my test site and move it to the live site and run the repair script and change all my paths and point to the existing database. Then I had to reconfigure all my blocks and custom work that I had done. That did the trick. What a royal pain.

PhilH

looking good...glad you got it squared away

BTW: Is AP Landing your site?

lowandslow

Thanks. Yes, AP Landing is mine too. I'd like to switch it over to TP and SMF but moving my links and gallery over would be completely manual so I've been putting of off.

Nice site!
Your sig, typical power pilot ;) A glider pilot myself I prefer high and fast.
Let me know when you start converting the site. :)

hehe. Thanks, I'll do it. I'm actually into helicopters (e-powered) for fun and of course for aerial photography use. Here's my business site http://www.pmaerialphoto.com
I also have http://www.pmeventphoto.com and of course http://www.crashmode.com which is my personal for fun site. Think I have enough sites to play with?

Talk of the Villages is our more serious site and is owned by a partnership called Community Forums, LLC. to which I am one of the owners.

Thanks for the links and I prefer to fly an aircraft that is not ready to come apart at the seams. ;D

One of my friends has about 13,000 hours in long line work mostly in vertols. That is scary stuff.

I started to split this thread for hijacking but I noticed it is your thread so I suppose a little chit chat won't hurt.
