I went ahead and installed v.1.0.5 and it still doesn't work, so it's not that same bug.

I *really* think this is something in the db, but I can't figure it out.  If you guys have any ideas, I'm very capable in MySQL, so I can test/try and ideas you may have.

And I know you guys do this for free, so thanks in advance for any help you can provide for me.

Extrackt the tp package you have installed
Upload the files from it manually through FTP (make sure the old files DO get overwritten )
in your browser, type in the url to your forum and at the end add manual_tp_install.php and let it update your database tables.

Check if it works now, and offcourse check the default core theme as thats where tp installs to and what it is made for .

I did install manually, I even have evidence ;)

I don't know why it won't work, but it just won't.

My articles just don't appear (same error I posted before) and I can't change the category...

There's the rub, this is what my frontpage/settings tab looks like (all the others work fully)

I dunno WTF is up with my install, but something ain't right...

Looks like you're missing some language strings or something. Unzip the TP zip file and upload all the files from the package replacing your current files.

The image you've posted is the General settings page, and not the frontpage settings. There should be two links right below the |>|| characters you see there. One should say Setttings, and the other should say frontpage. That's why I think you're missing the language files, or  they are corrupted.

SO, I manually uploaded all the TP files from the beta I just downloaded and it still gives me the same front page error of no article found.

Any other ideas as to what I can try?

Yes, you can give us the answers on our questions we ask you.

Did you check the language strings ?
If you run your forum on utf8 you will have to manually add the tp utf8 language strings to your themes/default/languages folder.

Also, do you have your articles in categories, if they are created, but not saved into categories, they will not show but instead shoot you an error.
