A man walks into a bar and asks for a glass of water, the barman pulls out a gun and points it at the man, and the man says Thank you ............ Why?

The man had the hickups so he asked for water. The Bar man recongnized it and so he pulled a gun on him to make the hickups go away. So he said Thank you.
