Only articles
Single page
Front page Blocks
Go directly to forum index

not nessesarily a change but an enhancement to

I know you can create an article in a front page block ( then opt to show or not) , but if u have users submitting articles , this might save a few steps...

Hope this makes sense... and if it is something covered already (I don't recall seeing it anywhere though) ..let me know

I've been working on a new orientated project and, unless I'm missing something, you have an option with the Menu block to display an article category and get a tab menu with the other categories on it as well. I don't think you can do that with any of the front page options, so I think that would be a good front page option as well.

But that tab menu is only really logical when seing the whole article isn't it? Then you want to read other articles in the same category/other categories.

Frontapge is like a news section sort of, you read chosen articles/parts without getting the whole hierarchy?

Front blocks and articles sounds interesting...I am looking at adding all three options mixed. Articles, posts and blocks. Preferably after one another though.

Front Page blocks and Articles would be a great feature!!

I don't think so, it is great for seeing the full range of categories, whenever you want to filter article content, with or without displaying the whole article.

The categories help the owner to organise their articles and help the user to be selective of the type of content that they want to view. You only need to see the whole article when you want to read it.Ã,  Having the tab menu there then enables you to select what other or the next category that you want to view.

You could include check boxes in the Categories Front Page Settings to select a Featured category and/or what Categories to display on the front page tab menu, you may want to have All, only some or the sub categories for a main category.

I can see a use for a 'Recent Articles' block along the lines of 'Recent Topics', that is using a short subject and being able to specify the number of recent articles shown.
