Hey I know this has been asked a billion times on the smf forums but I just can't put together a difinitive answer nor am I a great coder to figure out a solution out of what 'has' been provided. I am using your simplicity theme and I would like to have all of the cats on the left to load pre-collapsed. How would I go about tackling this?

Thanks,
Michael

I'm not sure exactly what to do as i havent; used simplicity before, but I think the easiest way would be to swap what it does.
Ie, if the settings say its closed, open it.
If the settings say its open, close it.
Otherwise when someone signs up you're going to have do a lot of queries to assign closed categories automatically, and it wouldn't work for guests.

Or i could be way off.

Pre-collapsed? You mean regardless of user settings? In the default theme each user can fold up categories amd it is remembered for each visit, but Simplicty doesn't have that...it was meant to be straight-forward "simple" theme.

But to apply pre-collapsed, which then people have to click to open, you would need some javascript I assume. I can't provide a quick solution for it right now though.
