I too ahve been trying many - thats how i ended up with Whizzywig , whcih is realtive fast and small and the bigger TinyMCE. FCKeditor is also supported.

Whats "koivi" editor...?

The main gripe with using a WYSIWYG editor for SMF is the very big task of undoing all those things made for a BBC editor. If the editor outputted BBC instead it would be so much easier lol. :)

Koivi editor is yet another rich text editor, it uses object oriented java.
At the moment I'm having problems reaching the site of the author :
http://koivi.com/WYSIWYG-Editor/

In 2004 someone wrote a wysiwyg class for xoops using the koivi editor :
http://www.xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=1758

I'm using that one on my xoops sites, the full version for myself and a small version (just a call with $options = 'small') for my members.
You can see it here : http://www.rainbowshaman.com/spirit/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=305&forum=33

If you click on 'reageer' or 'citeer' you can see the small version of the editor.
The site is hosted in america by onsmart, but you will notice that koivi editor loads pretty fast.

I read on fckeditor that loading times have improved, but did'nt test this one yet.

Hahaha, yes I agree, in march this year someone over at xoops started to turn the koivi editor into a wysiwyg editor with bbc output, but I heard nothing of it untill now : http://www.xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=2917&com_id=29118&com_rootid=27890&com_mode=thread&#comment29118

That looks like a BBC editor to me. Not a text editor?

That's a BBC editor no? Just a diiferent layout than SMF's BBC editor.

No it's an wysiwyg editor, you can choose a bbc editor though.
If you click on 'reageer' a form will show, above you can see 'selecteer editor', here you can choose 'textarea' 'dhtml' or Koivi

koivi looks rather interesting..I will test it out.

Not bad, but when I click on the image manager my pop-blocker stops it. That could be a problem.

Nice editor though.
