Latin1 and UTF8 problem

Hi,
A potential problem.

Just loaded a fresh new copy of SMF 1.1RC3 and set for UTF8 during setp.

Loaded first mod (TP0.95) and it installed OK. It asked to restart the forum, and by clicking that link I got the following
Illegal mix of collations (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '='

SMF 1.1 RC3 good support for UTF-8 but now TP 0.95 is not

I must re back with option: not use UTF-8 in my SMF 1.1RC3  :buck2:

Hope it be fine on v.1.0

Note: I'd love two options that SMF offer before install

I will look into the utf-8 issues. It probably means the TP databse tables need converting.

Thanks Bloc,

If there is no difference in the coding of TP for Latin1/UTF8 I can manually convert the tables to UTF8.

I'll have  ago and report back if it works OK.

I exported the smf_tp tables via phpmyadmin, changed the latin1 collation to utf8 and then imported the tables (overwriting) back in.

The SMF/TP Portal is now working, at least I get the front page.

All depends now if there is an coding differences between the two collations.
