In the thread linked above, I asked how I could display threads on the front page. I found out it was very easy: Admin > TinyPortal > Settings > Frontpage

What if I wanted to display a thread, in the same format (with the "Read More" and "Write Comment" links at the bottom, etc) but on a seperate .php web page?

Basically I would like to be able to link people to a page such as www.mywebsite.com/article123.php and have a specific thread displayed on that page exactly how it is displayed on the front page as if it were a blog/article.

Firstly, is it possible to pull up one specific thread like that?

Also, can someone tell me the PHP code to do this?

Thank you!

balzak

Nobody? Really, all I am asking for is the code that is used on the frontpage to pull up forum posts.

This feature is in the next release balzak. Articles with comments.

Then maybe you can elaborate more?

When you say this:
QuoteBasically I would like to be able to link people to a page such as www.mywebsite.com/article123.php and have a specific thread displayed on that page exactly how it is displayed on the front page as if it were a blog/article.

Are you saying that you want a "Thread" posted in the forum to link to the article? If so, thats on Blocs todo list I believe.

balzak

Maybe I shouldn't have used the term "article", because people may think I am referring to the TP "articles".

Allow me to eloborate...

Here is my site: http://tinyurl.com/j4xkg

As you can see, on the front page, a thread is displayed.

I would like to take the block that the thread is displayed in, and plug it into whatever I want. Let's say I have a .php page with something on it already, but I would also like to display that thread.

That way, I can link someone to a .php web page and the thread would be displayed.

Is that clear enough? Thanks.

IchBin

I'm not sure how to call a single post to any article. Especially if its a page outside of the forum or TP. It would require a database call or two I'm sure. But it's beyond my knowledge sorry.

You mean like a rss feed?

I really don't know much past HTML... But I think that is what I am referring to. Does that help?

balzak

Can someone tell me how to do the RSS feed?
