I wouldn't be suprised if he returned. Actually, I think it's kinda weird that he doesn't want the reason he left to be widely known, it's a pretty cool reason I suppose (unless I got it wrong). But even if he doesn't, the SMF team is doing excellently

Got an Email from [Unknown] to day.
As any other woman, im currious and cant stop thinking of things that make no sense, so some time ago i sended a PM to him on SMF forums.
Today i got an answer   he said it was OK to post what he wrote here for other to read, so i guess the mystery is solved  :coolsmiley:

Thanks for the kind words.  I am not dead, no worries there.  In fact, I'm reasonably healthy.

There were some internal conflicts in the team, and I had a growing need to make money to support my family, as other members were having trouble making money.  This, combined with some other factors, made me leave the team.

Also, I was doing too much, and no one would take the responsibility I was trying to give them.  When I left, this improved.

Lastly - I had no disagreement with Lewis Media, and feel that both Jeff Lewis and Joseph Fung are swell guys.

You have my permission to post this there in that topic if you so wish to.

Since it seems you can get an answer from him, ask him if he's involved with anything that we can keep an eye on. He's a very talented coder, and a heck of a guy to do what he did for SMF. I'd be very interested to see what he is up to, and to follow anything he's involved with.

So you solved the big question about what happend to [unknown], im glad to hear that he is okey.. i remember him answering every god damn post on smf forums back in the days.. he was everywhere back then... and always good postings from him... 

So on to the next mystery... what is the Book of unknown that is inside smf.. and do any of you know anything about it ?
