Plz help me as i have messed up my site www.kpsnoida.com. I was actually supposed to be updating the site to smf rc3 when i accidently i simply placed all the files without backing them. Now it reads an error. Plz check it and tell me how to revert back the site. It's really urgent

If you havent made any backups, im affraid you are about to start over.
All the changes are allready done and they are not back compatible in any way  :-\

I suggest you contact your host, and HOPE with your fingers crossed, that they have a DB backup from you from the last days or so, If you have that, we can help you get your site back as it was before.

Oh my goodness, that error would scare me to death!  I do hope you can get it resolved.

Hmmm, I suspect that this is a TP error in relation to using SMF RC3.

Hopefully your db files are ok and should be if you did the upgrade and not a "fresh" install.

Friendly folk here may be able to tell you how to remove the TP bits to make your site pure SMF and then wait for TP v0.9.5 which will be compatible with RC3.

Good luck.

If he did overwrite all files with fresh ones, there is no TP left in any of the SMF files.
All strings added by TP in any SMF file will be gone, and there for no calls from any string will be made, so basicly he only have SMF installed right now, but it's not working.

One thing you can try is to take a fresh index.php from 1.1rc3 and upload that to your forum root folder manually and then run repair_settings.php from SMF download section/Tools, and upload that file to your forum root and point your browser to it.
I think your settings.php and your settings.bat.php are emty, so if you run the repair_settings php might work but only for the forum and not TP

I would agree except for one little thing in the error.
It talks about the tportal_sidebar() so I reckon he has done some sort of of upgrade which has left TP in there.

QuoteFatal error: Call to undefined function: tportal_sidebar() in /home/kpsnoida/public_html/Sources/Load.php(1607) : eval()'d code on line 217

I'm no genius (newbie in fact) but would love to help this person out as the site is related to a school.

All support from any one is accepted :)
So if you want to give a hand, please do :)

Did you try repairing your tables in PHPMyadmin? That usually helps me when I get errors.

catchimran

I do have the datbase with me so possibly i can experiment that nothing goes wrong. Thanks for the help but can't anyone conclusively tell me how to go up and completely remove the bits of TP so that i can get the site back normal. Well I update the site for my school and it is no less than a catastrophy!

Look in the TP manual install package and see what files it adds to your forum, remove them from your folder.
Then go to SMF site and download the coplete install package for 1.1rc3, and extract it on your local machine.
Go to your forum root, download the settings.php and the settings.bat.php from there as backup.
Then upload and overwrite all SMF file with the complete package 1.1rc3.

then upload settings.php and settings.bat.php again to your forum root (the backups), point your browser to install.php and hope for the best
