How can I display threads as articles on the front page?

I would like to have an "Articles" section in the forum.

Here, I will post threads which are articles. I would like the most recent to be displayed on the front page. Maybe the 1-3 most recent articles on the front page.

How can I do this? Please be very specific as I am new to this as well as anything beyond HTML.

Currently that is not possible. I believe it is on Bloc's todo list though.

if you look at it that way, anything is possible.. just a couple of function calls here or there...

it isnt of course possible in the "click in admin" sense.

I looked at those threads but still didn't figure out how to make it work properly.

I really don't know much of anything about PHP.

Can someone tell me specifically how to accomplish this? Maybe you can give me some code and tell me where to plug it.

What I did is hide the archived articles from the front page and just make a link to them from my main Welcome article - http://www.avalanchestyle.com/forum/index.php

balzak, is there a reason that you don't want to just write articles instead of posting them in your forum?

Yes. That way they can all be archived for easy browsing. Also, people can post comments.

The most recent x number of first posts in topics from a single forum to be displayed in full in a block on the front page with a link to the post on the forum.
