Hey guys, first i'd like to start off by saying great job on the portal, now my problem  :'(.. my site is www.thevistanet.com and the forum is on www.thevistanet.com/forum

When I upload a small file such as 500kb it goes through and get uploaded, however when I try to upload a file that is about 2.5MB it takes a long time and then I get this error:

"An Error Has Occurred!
The upload was not able to complete. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.

Please consult your server administrator for more information."

I set the upload limit to 20,000kb so I dont think its too big  ???

Could  you guys help me out? Is there a way to fix this? Thanks, I really appreciate it.

-Julian

edit- sorry if this is the wrong section  :-\

You have to contact your hot about this issue,
that upload size limit is set by the server software and host.
If you have your own server, you need to chaange the settings your self,
and if you have a host, they need to change the limit for file sizes for you.

Thanks but I dont understand, I upload 50MB files constantly by FTP...is this different?

agridoc

Yes Jules242, FTP is different, PHP has it' s own upload limits configured in the server' s system. You should contact your host.

Each server has a PHP upload limit, they start from 2Mb and go up to 10Mb by default, as far as I know. In many hosts this can be overrided by modifying php.ini, if allowed.

That's becasue your uploading via HTTP not FTP when using the download manager interface. It's a differetnt protocol.

As Assistance said, you have to talk to your host and tell them whatever size limit you think you will need for HTTP file transfers.

ok I understand now..thanks for the help guys!
