Not quite sure I understand. How do I disable the changing of themes.

Uninstall your current HM theme, go to admin > themes & layout > themes & settings > find the HM theme and click the red X. Then in your SMF root directory(FTP) go to Themes > HM theme and delete the folder.

FTP is a program you use to transfer files from one server or a local machine to another.
It looks just like your local file system with folders and files. Just like moving folders and files between harddrives

The root directory is the first folder (main folder) also called public_html or in your local machine it is called drive C:/root
