Permission denied

Okay first off, Im sorry if I have multi posted on this, but I was confused when I posted before and assumed if the thread was 'error' related, we could all post our errors and whomever replied would use our names, but that didnt work and it became damn confusing (so Bloc, please pull my last post'). Thank you.

And the TP version I was trying was Tinyportal0_65
There are no mods or themes installed.

I do not have the myphpadmin (I think thats the name) to try a manuel install.
And I think Ichbin (sp?) suggested chmoding everything on /smf to 777, then the two setting files back to 666 (after fighting with hoster lol) I attempted that via cuteftp mgr (Host does not allow shell acess, except for admins). He also stated it could be a security risk, but I just gave him the finger and said I will try once more, otherwise I dont think I can get TP to work. I think Im just really doing something wrong  in over ten years playing with computers and geeking out I have never had a problem installing something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You have php 4.3.10...I know there were some issues with that.

Have you checked that the divider.gif does not exist already? it could be that it was copied earlier, and then have a set permisson on it, making a new copy overwriting it impossible.

So I will have to have keepr do that when he wakes up I will keep you posted.

O good cuz I thought I was really starting to loose it 
keepr (Dave) still doesnt have time to empty my dir out til later (lots of fun work today for a net/sys admin of a ga-zillion differant places) but Im sure he will surprise me before the day is over and empty it when Im not looking.

IchBin is also trying to help, something something with phpmyadmin, so Im sure with all you educated people out there, someone can tell me in 'blonde terms' wtf Im mucking up.
