How can I show a single post of my choosing on the front page?  I have a poll going that I would like to be on the front page when people enter the site, but only want that post on the front page and nothing else.

Thanks in advance!

As for now there isent any way to do this you want to do.
there have been some attempts to call the polls with ssi, but there are issues with it  :-\

i think its possible..

you can a block for a message from forum.

if you get a poll in same way you can. (i guess)

exp: http://sifirforum.com/forum/index.php  (left side second block)

So there is a way that I can block a single post or would that be the entire category/thread?

Xarcell

No, how you "block" a single post. Just delete it(post)...

I'm sorry, that's either confusing or vague to me.  Basically I'd like to just put a single post (of my choosing) in a block/articale on the front page.  There is a poll in this post, so I've been told that doing it as an article is out of the question.

You can't show just one post(with a poll), you would need a new SSI function for it, one you can call in a php block or even a php article you set as "featured".

I am not sure, but there might be a mod to SSI.php that does this..then you can use that and call it.

deniz

there is a mod for single message capture.

http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=357

you can show a singel message (may be poll too) in a block like this:

ssi_grabMessage($message_id=?)

bloc

There you go, apply that and you can call that function inside a php article. If you set it to be "featured" it will always stay on top.

Hello all,

This is interesting topic as i was looking for the same  ;)

The last thing Bloc said didnt work for me unfortunately cause if I install the mod it doesn't appear in tiny portal as an option.

Or you mean I have to use it inside an article as I would do with a normal website (html) with ssi functions included?
