3rd Party integration - Classifieds

Hey there, I am working a on a site demo for a current site.  We are thinking of moving to TinyPortal + SMF to reduce overhead, boost performance and give the users the forum features they want.  One of the things we need that isn't really native to TP + SMF is a classifieds ad system.  Ad wise we have pretty simple ads, contact info and a descritption and in things when selling merchandice maybe a price field.  I installed Noah Classifieds and got it to call up inside TP with an article and using an iframe.  However I need to reprogram whatever classifieds system we use to authenticate against the TP+SMF member table and I want the search to incorporate the classifieds in it.  The former is modifying the classifieds program the latter TP.  Anyway I am thinking Noah might be too big a classifieds program for us and I am having trouble figuring where to mod it (I am not that strong a PHP programmer).  I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion of a similar package they used.

My other option of course is to use a forum for classifieds with sub forums for the categories.  If I do that though I want that area to be themed different (I know how to do that) however I also want it to not appear on the forum list when someone selects forums be they logged in or not.  Is there a way to do that?  If that works it will be much simpler to impliment as the login and search setup would be MUCH simpler.
