i want to hide the left bar on the main page but to have it on the forums page.
the only option i have is to have it on the main page and if i want to hide it on the forums...

i use tp v0.8.6

gfxindia

lol that's impossible in tp 0.86
i doubt this feature in the next release too.
most people wouldn't like it that way.

Eran

you mean that i need to edit the theme files for that or to wait for the next version?

BTW
can i remove the collapse buttons for the bars (not the blocs) or the same answer goes for that too?

G6Cad

If you turn off the blocks for show on the frontpage, it wont show up in the forum eather.
The next version of TP will be the same.

gfxindia

yesy you can remove the collapse buttons for bars.
please wait while i search for that codes.

remove this from index.template.php
// TinyPortal
if($context['TPortal']['showtop'])
echo '<a href="#" onclick="shrinkHeader(!current_header); return false;"><img id="upshrink" src="', $settings['images_url'], '/', empty($options['collapse_header']) ? 'upshrink.gif' : 'upshrink2.gif', '" alt="*" title="', $txt['upshrink_description'], '" style="margin: 2px 0;" border="0" /></a><img id="upshrinkTemp" src="', $settings['images_url'], '/blank.gif" alt="" style="margin-right: 1ex;" /> ';
if($context['TPortal']['leftbar'])
echo '<a href="#" onclick="shrinkHeaderLeftbar(!current_leftbar); return false;"><img id="upshrinkLeftbar" src="', $settings['images_url'], '/', empty($options['collapse_leftbar']) ? 'upshrink.gif' : 'upshrink2.gif', '" alt="*" title="', $txt['upshrink_description'], '" style="margin: 2px 0;" border="0" /></a><img id="upshrinkTempLeftbar" src="', $settings['images_url'], '/blank.gif" alt="" style="margin-right: 0ex;" />';
// TinyPortal end

// Tp crip
if($context['TPortal']['rightbar'])
echo '&nbsp;<a href="#" onclick="shrinkHeaderRightbar(!current_rightbar); return false;"><img id="upshrinkRightbar" src="', $settings['images_url'], '/', empty($options['collapse_rightbar']) ? 'upshrink.gif' : 'upshrink2.gif', '" alt="*" title="', $txt['upshrink_description'], '" style="margin: 2px 0;" border="0" /></a><img id="upshrinkTempRightbar" src="', $settings['images_url'], '/blank.gif" alt="" style="margin-right: 0ex;" />';
// Tp crip end

The lines that say crip etc are just comments you may not fint them in your template

Remember to BACKUP the file you change before remove and add in some other code ;)
That way you don't have to get furious when you get errors from it :)

Eran

already done it...
just added // so I'm not worried :]
