Need help with a mod....

Hi

I got this idea while browsing for pixel art icons - u know the little animated animals and people ?



The Idea

When a member reaches a certain post count they can adopt a 'virtual pet'

The virtual pets are available from a small gallery (list - like the avatars)

Lets say the member reaches 50 posts (the set limit)

They can now go to their profile page on which they will be given the additional option of "virtual pet gallery" from which they can choose a pet

This pet will be displayed in their Post profile (under the avatar and stuff) and they can give it a name.

Thats the idea basically - I know its silly but I think it would be a cute addition for people who love these little functionalities.

I know how to add additional feilds and graphics to the profile template and display template - however it is beyond me how:
- I can go about creating the condition of "if the person has 50+ posts"
- Also the option of creating an avatar like gallery to appear in the profile template

If anyone can help me with the above 2 points I would be really greatful

That is a really cool idea.

The shop mod that is currently availiable will get to close to what you want, but not completely.

There isn't many mod developers here at TP yet. It is better to ask over ast SMF.

By the way, this sounds similar to an item I made for SMFShop: A "Profile Image" item. This will allow the user to choose an image from a list of images, and the image will be displayed next to their posts.
