AJAX for TP ShoutBox

I was thinking that the shoutbox should use some improvements.  One of those improvements would be using AJAX to post a shout.  If many people are interested I would give this a shot and make a mod for it.

Hi there.  I am new as you can see, but I think that would be a great idea.  Ajax rocks as do you guys.  Great work by all people involved.  I will contribute at some point in time when I learn a little more about coding and css.

That might have an impact on the server if it refreshes ever x amount of time.  I think this can be done with AJAX too that way you don't have to refresh the whole page.  I'm a n00b to JS so this will me my learning process too .

Yeah, I was leaning towards being able to refresh at the click of a button, not so much an auto-refresh, even with AJAX.

I implemented this into my site.  There is a small issue loading the template since the call back function is loading the whole SMF template into the shoutbox window.  I will try to use the SMF layer system and work something out.

Well I haven't worked on this for a while.  been busy with other stuff.  Once I get a chance I'll finish it up.

I'd love to have this too.. it's the one (small) thing I find missing from TP nowdays. If you can get this working that would be great!
