HOW to port TP SMF 1.0.x to 1.1Rc2???

Hi fellas,

I have an older version of SMF running TP on SMF 1.0.5

I have already installed a FRESH NEW copy of 1.1rc2 and TP with the helios theme.  I am ready to port all my boards, MEMBER GROUPS, Permissions, and threads.

Is there a well-known and simple way for me to do this?  I would appreciate any help.  If its going to be a real pain, I might consider doing the boards by hand, and chucking 2 years of spamming.  But it would be nice to have my MEMBER GROUPS and PERMISSIONS and REGISTERED USERS.

Basically Im just asking how to transfer my user accounts, posts and crap from my old SMF Tiny Portal (1.0.5) to my new SMF tiny portal 1.1RC2

Uninstall TP. Run the upgrade on the old one (No need to have a new one). Then re-install TP.

stig, please allow more than just 4 hours for someone to reply. the forums are very large and it takes time to read through them. like gerry says, uninstall tp (and of course any other mods). then all you have to do is unzip and upload the smf UPDATE package to your site, then use the upgrade.php file by navigating to www.yoursite.com/forumdirectory/upgrade.php. it'll do the rest.

unfortunately, you'll have to relearn the admin interface, but there aren't any large changes.

Don't use the update package for 1.1RC2. It is for 1.1RC1 only. Use the upgrade package. And you won't need to uninstall TP before upgrading SMF. But you should definately backup.

I made a new 1,1rc2 tiny portal to transfer from my malfunctioning 1.0.5 TP.  It wont auto update, files are broken, etc, etc...

The files won't matter as the upgrade will overwrite all of them.
