Maybe I missed this somewhere but all I want to do is display rss feeds on the first page then people can enter the forum.

Is there a way to just display a centerblock only? Right now all the options seem to depend on you choosing to select to display either forum, articles etc.

So somewhere in your options e.g display portal only?

I just realised my plan is flawed. If you display just the center block then it will display over everything including your forum.

Maybe an option of shrink center block when viewing forum?  ;)

For now I have just made it a left block to avoid that problem.

I wanted to do something similar

I believe the option to hide the center block will be in the next beta (?)

Yes.

Is the code PHP - or just javascript?

In my case it's php (RSS feed via CaRP). When in the centre block, on the homepage, it displays slightly different paragraph spacing compared with when in the forum.  Though I would only want to use it tp show on the homepage.

ps. Before that I used javascript from here: http://www.rss-to-javascript.com/
I put the generated code in the standard SMF news box, which caused the TP to lock out, only displaying the upper section of the page (user login box and news box), but nothing else. Could not see the boards any longer. Got rid of it also becaue it increased the load time of the homepage

ah. Ok. I was thinking an "article" could be it with javascript at least, but php its another matter.

Just top clarify, at the moment I'm trying out the RSS via CaRP in a centre block phpbox - almost works fine.
I haven't figured out formatting properly, as the paragraph/line spacing of the different news items don't look right (though when in displaying the forum, display correctly). This might have something to do with the CarP formatting commands.

Exactly what I am doing too. Move the carp feed's to the left and right because that center blocks disiplay over everthing!
