I have a block I created that includes code for a paypal button. When this block is active, no one can delete PMs because it redirects them to paypal. I also can't edit any blocks because I also get redirected to paypal. If I deactivate the block, it works fine. below is the code I used in the block.

Help keep our server going. Donate today! <BR>

<input type="hidden" name="business" value="email@removed">

I removed the email addy since I don't have permission from the owner of this paypal account to publish his addy to everyone.  I tried using a HTML block... I tried a javascipt/HTML block.. same results. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can live with deactivating it before making any block changes, but when I found that my users can't delete PMs.. that made this block a NO GO

The website is http://dod.classicaka.com

I used the code as shown and placed it into a jscript/HTML box using "Do not use title/frame" and it shows up just fine. I went into my PM box and deleted an older message without any hangups. I also clicked the PayPal link button and it took me to paypal but said I had an invalid email which was to be expected. I am running SMF 1.0.3 w/ TP 0.6.5 under a modified SMF default theme.
I have become comfortably numb!

I too use a Paypal button, exactly like described and it does not show any problems. You are sure it isn't some other block that is causing the problems , Kaelan?

Kaelan

It was working just fine... that's the weird part. I tried turning off ALL other blocks and had the same result.  I even tried copying in a fresh index.template (just in case I screwed that up.) no change.

I can copy the same block into a test site I have setup and it works fine....and I've messed around with the files on there more than on my clans game site....

Have you recently switched browsers? ???

It might have something to do with the server then..since it only appears there. You don't happen to have a problem with ;id in the queries? That it needs to be &id instead?

Kaelan

Hmmmm.... not that I know of.. I saw a post you made about ;id in another thread...what in the htaccess did you do to correct it?

Bjørn

I simply put an statement to turn of that module which handles it...[unknown] from simplemachines.org came up with it:

<IfModule mod_security.c>
        # Turn off mod_security filtering.  SMF is a big boy, it doesn't need its hands held.
        SecFilterEngine Off

        # The below probably isn't needed, but better safe than sorry.
        SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>

thanks... I'll have to give this a try as soon as the hard drive in our webserver gets replaced.... it picked a heck of a weekend to crash on us. Good thing we do nightly backups offsite :D

Kaelan

well... tried adding that code to the htaccess..... no luck... it's not something with the server since we have another website that uses the exact same code and it works...
