It includes important security and bug fixes, as well as support for the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements.

No, I understand it to be like this:  2.0 will continue to be supported even when 2.1 comes out.  When the version after 2.1 comes out that will be the time 2.0 goes EOL.

Updated my site to 2.0.16 yesterday. This evening upped php to 7.3. All seems to be working ok with 30 mods and TP 1.6.4...
