SMF News Fader?

I see a "News" option in the blocks but when I turn it on, it just shows my news messages 1 at a time. Meaning I have to refresh my page manually for it to go to the next news item. It's also situated to the left, not centered and it doesn't fade.

Am I doing something wrong?

No the news block only shows the random news items, it doesn't use the news fader.  I use it for random banner ads.
