TinyPortal admin page ask me to login.
I got tired to keep typing my password all day.
How can I make it so that it stays log in until I click log out from the forum top menu?

allvip, this is built into SMF itself, sessions will time out after they haven't been accessed for a while.  you'll find the same thing happening if you visit the SMF admin page instead of the Tinyportal admin page.

You Could try, and I'm sure Illori will put me straight on this if I'm wrong.

Admin > Configuration > Server settings > Cookies and Sessions.  Increase the time where it says "Seconds before an unused session timeout"  Click save.

Like I said, I could be wrong about this, but worth a try.

that does not fix the issue, but you can go to admin -> security and moderation check the box disable administration security and you will never have to enter your password to enter admin or tp admin. but this is not really secure ;) .

Aha, I knew you'd put me straight on this.  Thanks, I've also learnt something which I can put in action on my local testbeds.  Thanks Illori.  ;)

I would also like to know if setting the session time affects admin sessions as well though?

illori

no, by default the admin log in prompt will show 1 x hour.

allvip

Perfect. I work on my PC (localhost) so I dont't care about security.

Thanks  :)

Nice one,  O0 :tick:

Is not built in SMF.
SMF has the option to set Minutes to stay logged in: 999999999 and it never logs me out here, on the coppermine forum or my localhost.
I keep my second install on localhost inactive for hours but it does not logs me out.

Is not really OK when a script "orders you' when to log out.
I refresh the page every 5 minutes on my first install and it still logs me out.

illori should start working on this  ;D

That's a user session, not a Admin session.  If you went to admin on a fresh install of SMF without any mods installed it would do the same. ;)

illori

by default the admin session will expire as i said above. it lasts 1 hour.

the user session can be up to forever and not force you to log out.
