Also copyright question: Can TP users remove the copyright mark (if this mod has one).

Wellwisher. All I will say at the moment is, we are currently testing a working version of TP in SMF 2.1 When this will be released as a beta I can't say.

Like most software, we can't stop you from removing the copyright, but if you do then you'll get no support whatsoever from us if you do. Only fair IMO.

actually you can depending on the license terms. it does not depend on anything else but the license and those that run the project.

most software actually does not let you unless you pay a fee to remove copyright.

And another important thing: if you remove the copyright mark how would anybody know that you are using this great portal and trigger them to use the same portal and make it more popular!

Hello TP team,

Legally from my understanding @Illori is correct, it's up to the project owners & original license terms which decide. Hence why I asked you folks. With SMF Mods, I am finding that more and more mods are clogging up my footer section. In these cases, I'd either contact the owner to work out if they would accept a fee to remove it or if they have a pro version, I'd purchase that.

Is this possible for TP? I'd happily donate if I used this for 2.1 providing it beats SP in load times.

As Ichbin says, you are free to remove the TinyPortal copyright if, and only if, you are using TinyPortal 1.0 Final or newer.  However, you should be aware of this --> If you do indeed remove the TinyPortal copyright, you will no longer be entitled to receive support for the software from this site.

Will wait for the 2.1 version and see how well it fairs up against SP in terms of  speed.

so far the 2.1 version is not that much different from the 2.0 version, just some bug fixes and updates to make it work with 2.1. there may be other changes but that is as far as we have gotten.
