Related Error messages: usage issue - no error message

A member reported problems with panels right and left. When she closes them (using the two 'minus' bars at top of right hand panel) they *do* close, but when she moves to a new page they reopen.

I tested and found nothing wrong until, that is, I returned to the site some time later. I had left the side panels closed and reopened them (I use them constantly) but found they wouldn't remain open, i.e. the exact opposite of the members issue.

I see no similar support query and wonder if it was related to the 'querystring' issue I enquired about yesterday. If not... I'd appreciate a few suggestions about what might be causing it. Thanks. :)

I think this may be a cookies cache issue in your/their Browser settings, for example if you set the theme from drop down, to another one, and then log off and it should go to the default theme you have set! and when you log back in, it may go to the theme you have just set, depending on the browser setting or the refreshing of the cache.

cookie monster lol! :)

Try the refresh
Of course your Visitors will or may have the same issue, or opposite, depending on the browser set up,

I have mine set to refresh, every time I close the browser. but that's me and you may lose you last sites visited! or ( history)

hope this helps!

Maxx

./Sources/QueryString.php

Find:
// Let's do something special for session ids!
      if (defined('SID') && SID != '')
         $buffer = preg_replace('/"' . preg_quote($scripturl, '/') . '\?(?:' . SID . '(?:;|&|&))((?:board|topic)=[^#"]+?)(#[^"]*?)?"/e', "'\"' . \$scripturl . '/' . strtr('\$1', '&;=', '//,') . '.html?' . SID . '\$2\"'", $buffer);
      else
         $buffer = preg_replace('/"' . preg_quote($scripturl, '/') . '\?((?:board|topic)=[^#"]+?)(#[^"]*?)?"/e', "'\"' . \$scripturl . '/' . strtr('\$1', '&;=', '//,') . '.html\$2\"'", $buffer);
Replace With:
// Let's do something special for session ids!
      if (defined('SID') && SID != '')
         $buffer = preg_replace('/"' . preg_quote($scripturl, '/') . '\?(?:' . SID . '(?:;|&|&))((?:board|topic|page|cat)=[^#"]+?)(#[^"]*?)?"/e', "'\"' . \$scripturl . '/' . strtr('\$1', '&;=', '//,') . '.html?' . SID . '\$2\"'", $buffer);
      else
         $buffer = preg_replace('/"' . preg_quote($scripturl, '/') . '\?((?:board|topic|page|cat)=[^#"]+?)(#[^"]*?)?"/e', "'\"' . \$scripturl . '/' . strtr('\$1', '&;=', '//,') . '.html\$2\"'", $buffer);

Tried refreshing the cache in Chrome... (Ctrl-F5 afaik)... but that didn't work. :(

Tried similar in Firefox and Safari and both work so it *is* a browser issue. Off to investigate again.

Will do... many thanks again.

Sorted the Chrome problem by deleting the cache and *then* pressing Ctrl-F5 - for some reason that worked.

Solved. :)
