Re: "You should be able to remove the tag from the topic to remove the related connection to it."  Where do I find the tag? (see attachment)

Thanks, Kerry

You have these options in TP > Settings:
Tag topics with Global tags?
Tag boards with Global tags?

If those options are on, you will see the option above the "related" section to add or remove the tags.

Kerry

Hi IchBin,

I'm not seeing the options you describe, yet I am seeing the image in the previously include attachment Related field.jpg.

What I see is (see tagimage.JPG attachment).

I'm using the Core Theme.

Kerry,

Look in this area ▬▬►http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?action=tpadmin;sa=settings

See the image below.  That is what you are looking for.  Turn those two options off.  If you don't see those options, you may not have the latest version of TinyPortal.  In that case, please give us the info requested from our Posting Guidelines, specifically ...

You're right. I have those two buttons selected to "No" so I must not have the latest version of TP. According to my Modifications Packages—

4.    TinyPortal    1.104    [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
5.    TinyPortal    1.107    [ Uninstall ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]

—I have TP 1.1.07 installed.

I downloaded 1_0 but its unzipped folder contains, Common, SMF1, SMF2, and "package info" but no upgrade instructions or a folder for SMF3.x.

Thanks, Kerry

TP Admin > Settings and Frontpage > Settings

Please take a screenshot of that page.

If the options are set to no, you need to turn them on to remove the tags.

Kerry

I had both set to No. Per your instructions I changed them to Yes. Now the tag is still there and a new field is there "Tag this Topic."  (see attachments)

IchBin,  I downloaded 1_0 but its unzipped folder contains, Common, SMF1, SMF2, and "package info."  I don't see any install or upgrade instructions or a folder for SMF3.x. Which of these do I upload via Package Manager?

Yorel

As far I know, it's impossible to remove Related Topics once you assigned it. You can delete the tag yes but the related topics will stay it.

I searched how to delete but didn't find the option.

Kerry

Thanks Yorel,

That's what I've discovered.

Thank you,

Kerry

IchBin

No it's not impossible. The link you are seeing, is the other topic that has the same tag. All links that are in the related section are items that are tagged with the same tag. You need to remove the tags from all items.

There is no such thing as SMF3.x so I'm not sure what you are talking about. SMF2.x is in there. Not sure why you are asking about install/upgrade instructions?
