Text formatting problems?

Does TP or SMF change the size of text? I mean physically, not w/ just styles. I keep finding text on my pages changed to x-small WTH? :tickedoff: I KNOW I am not doing it - I don't style text that way, as it's too small for people to read. Any ideas WHY this would be happening? A way to fix it?

AND...
As it was, the header style STILL has a problem with the line height. I had forgotten that. If your page title at top is longer than one line, the lines overlap. I had made a bit of style for my site in smf 1.0x and put it in back then. I'll paste it at bottom of this post, if someone wants it. However, it still wasn't working right. Lo, in the style sheet (for curves anyway), there's a bit that has all the <H> codes as 1em ?!? Again, WTH? Is this on purpose? And why?? :idiot2: That bit was around line 190 or so...

Header-fix
/* header styles to fix leading problem */

h1
{
   line-height: 120%;

}

h2
{
   line-height: 120%;
}

h3
{
   line-height: 120%;
}

h4
{
   line-height: 120%;
}

h5

}

h6
{
   line-height: 120%;
}

The Font size should only be changed via the index.css or style, but in order to better understand, please give us a link so we can look at what you set up there! some themes have font settings though!

The code you have above has all set at the same size, and that's not a good thing, I'd think! :)

Maxx

Link to my forum: Go thee and look here: www.reenactor.net Has different themes for each time area. All mods of curves.
SMF version: v/2.0.5
TP version: 1.0
Default Forum Language: English
Theme name and version: A modded curves theme.
Browser Name and Version: firefox 24

Mods installed:

  • Google Analytics Code 1.4
  • Links 2.0
  • SMF Gallery Pro 5.0.2a
  • SMF Staff Page 1.7
  • Ultimate Profile 0.9.1

That IS in the index.css file. I will clean the thing I wrote up, to make it in one declaration -- I remmed the 1em thing.

The problem I am having with the "x-small text" is somehow, something is writing the styles INTO the articles. THAT, I do not do. As in in the writing them in the text in the editing window.

Post the code with code tags for an article that is doing this and give us a link to the article so that we can look at it.

Is this the code you are starting out with in this article?  The reason I ask is because the linked article looks different than it did when I first looked at it yesterday.

It is really hard for us to diagnose any problems you are running into when you post one thing and then you change it before we can figure out what you are trying to do.  If you want us to help you, you need to stop doing that.  And, BTW, if this is just a menu, have you even tried the menu in a block capability of TinyPortal?  This would be the link on your site to use that --> http://www.reenactor.net/forums/index.php?action=tpadmin;sa=menubox

It might work better for you in a case like this.

Yeah, that was my bad. I forgot I had posted that there, but it was sooo bad. And i get irritated at the problems. I am trying to get site back on an even keel.

I have tried that, but didn't have good luck then. Maybe I will have some time once I get this settled down. I think the problem was it wouldn't let me do what  wanted, but it was a while back.
