Dear TP friends and supporters,

I would like to ask some general questions in regard of article:

Page ID (url...page=XX):
* Is it possible to chose, change or modify the article page ID? As far as i had seen, it would be generated automatically, starting by 1....
* Where and when could it be changed
* How does the ID need to look. For example I would like to give it a lookalike like this "vin01m.mul0_rom"
* What is the use and the function of "Query title:" in the article

Category ID (url...cat=XX):
* Is it possible to chose, change or modify the category ID?
* Where and when could it be changed
* How does the ID need to look. For example I would like to give it a lookalike like this "vin01m_rom"
* What is the use and the function of "Short name:" in the article

Thank you very much for hints and explaining in advance

OK the "Query title:" in articles question I can help you with.  I'll use an example from my other site to show you. ;)  If you click the two links below you'll see the difference in your browser address bar. Even though they point to exactly the same article.

If you don't  add a Query title: you'll have an address or link to your article like,
http://cameracraniums.com/forum/index.php?page=61

Now as my article is called Point of View, I can just add that to the Query title field, and then my link or address in my browser would look like this,

http://cameracraniums.com/forum/index.php?page=Point-of-View

I'm assuming the "Short name:" in the categories does the same thing, although I've never actually used this feature, so I don't know. :-[

Hope this helps.

That sound's great, lurkalot! And it would be fantastic if my assuming is also what is really fact.

So if I understand right, the same page can be reached with "page=61" or "Point-of-View" but is still one data. Or do now 2 datas exist within the database?

Regarding the "Short name:" I am a little shy to try, I think I remembered one place where somebody had troubles with the ID and kind of signs here in the forum, but I can not remember (not sure if it was the same topic)

Thanks for your feedback and support!
