Kris

Hi everyone,

I have been playing around a bit with smf on a free host (for the time being) using a couple of other portals. Just wondering if someone had a link to the differences between say ez portal, tiny portal and simple portal just to satisfy my curiosity.

Thanks,
Kris

Freddy

I don't believe there is any sort of page to show this.  If you go to the SMF support forum and search there you will see they love arguing about which is best.  Since you have a free host why not just try it out yourself and trust your own opinion :)

Each site has their own list of features and updates, and they could be compared this way, but to make a long story short, I tested most all of them and I always stick with TP.

All portals are not the same, and some have stuff the other has not but when it comes to what is really needed, you'll find TP is the one, and one of the other portal systems, I wrote most of the how TOS and some support, for it, and find it nice, but what do I use? TP.

I guess the to most used are Simple Portal ad Tiny Portal.

The other thing, I found they are either limited or crash the system too much, when trying to do things like complicated Front pages and stuff.

If you give us an idea what you want to do , possibly we can help you decide, but it's really up to you!

regards,
Maxx

Thanks Maxx,

Not really looking to do anything, now anyway. Just looking to learn and play around with some new things.

Kris, that is the way most of us learn what's best. LOL to use.
