How can I position a topic that has been promoted to the front page

I promoted a forum topic to the front page and it put it at the bottom of the page.  How can I move it up higher on the page?  There does not appear to be a block for the topic.

When I first looked at the FrontPage of your site a few minutes ago, I saw 5 blocks in the center and a topic at the very bottom of the FrontPage called "Materials Wanted", I believe.  I'm guessing that this topic was the one that you had promoted though, after I refreshed the page, I no longer see it.

Anyway, it looks like those 5 blocks in the center of the FrontPage are either in the upper panel or the front panel.  I'm guessing they are all in the upper panel though I can't be sure without seeing your list of blocks.  Those 5 blocks are titled as follows ...

• Guests
• Change in Net Meeting
• Welcome Guests and Members
• Ham gear donated to the club
• Help Wanted

If you move all 5 of those blocks to the lower panel rather than the upper panel, any promoted topics will be above them.

Hmmm, looks like you are still working on it as the list of blocks shown above has changed.  LMK when you have finished playing with things and I will take another look.

Also, in case you didn't realize it, the version of TinyPortal you are using is not the latest version.

I decided to just create a Recent Topics block instead of using the promote to front page.  Thanks for your reply though.  I wasn't aware that there was a newer version on TP.  The one I have now has been working good for several months.  What is the advantage of the newer version?

OK, well that works.  I'll mark this topic solved.

There are a few issues in the version you are using (1.0 RC4) that have been fixed in version 1.0 Final.  If you are interested in what they are, feel free to look through our bugtracker for issues in 1.0 RC4 that have been fixed in TP 1.0.  You'll see some issues that still aren't fixed but those are slated for the next version.  The link is here --> http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?project=1;area=issues
