I have last week updated my smf - ingeniordebat.dk - to the latest version 2.0 with TP 1.0

But now I get the same type of error message in my log all the time:

Download module is not active.

1) is this Google and others web crawl since it is always the same IP?
2) What to do in order to avoid this how to avoid this error?

IchBin

1). Yes, if you do a nslookup for that IP you'll see that it's a google IP number.
2). You can use robots.txt file in your site to restrict where you want googlebot to go. You can read more about that in google. :)

You can also sign up for Google's Webmasters Tools. It will tell you how to create a sitemap specifically for Google that you can edit to let it know what to see and not see.

I don't mind that Google is looking everywhere on my site.

My problem is that I receive more than 100 error messages: "Download module is not active" every day.

What shall I do to get rid of these errors?

I'm Sorry
I do not understand.

The error message talks about a download module in TP, which is not active.

Why will an activation of a google webmaster tool remove a TP error?

Why is it necessary to sign up  Google's Webmasters Tools now?
2 week ago, when my forum was 1,6 and my TP 0,98 I had no problems.

I'm obvious the only one getting this error otherwise there would have been a  fix.

and please, unclear explanations do not become clearer by quoting and repeating.

I have now signed up with the Google Webmasters Tools.

You only need to do what I have said. A robots.txt file is exactly what was made for your problem.

www.robotstxt.org to read all about it...

boldt

thank you very much.

the link to robotstxt.org explained clearly how to - and now my error messages are gone

Nemesis

It worked for 2 days

Now it is a new ip: 130.225.26.133 that courses the same kind of problem.
QuoteThe number of this IP address is 130.225.26.133. This IP address refers to Denmark, and it is affiliated with Aarhus, Midtjylland. IP Country code is DK. IP address ISP is "Danish Network for Research and Education", organization is "Danish Network for Research and Education".

My robots.txt. contains this:
QuoteUser-agent: Google
Disallow:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /

what is the problem now?

IchBin

If you really want to block all traffic you should probably use an apache rule to forward the request. Not sure how your host works, if they allow custom rules to be put in an .htaccess file or not. But you can do something like this to make it so everyone gets forwarded to your frontpage who tries to hit your downloads profile area.

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^area=tpdownload  http://ingeniordebat.dk/index.php
